Bluetooth Engineer

Job Summary Senior Bluetooth Development Engineer to own Bluetooth stack development, debugging, and certification in a virtualized automotive Android environment. In this role, the engineer will drive Bluetooth features for next-generation in-vehicle infotainment, lead rapid bug triage across virtualized guest/host environments, ensure robust device interoperability, and prepare systems for official certification. What You Will Do: Design, implement, and debug Bluetooth features within the Android framework (AOSP) and infotainment stack running under virtualization. Lead rapid bug triage and issue resolution for complex Bluetooth interoperability challenges, including HFP, A2DP, and BLE profiles, across guest Android instances and the host system. Drive and execute the Bluetooth SIG certification process for vehicle software and hardware releases. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize wireless performance, manage BT/Wi-Fi coexistence, and mitigate RF interference. Work closely with hypervisor teams to manage BT controller pass-through, shared memory, and virtualized transport interfaces. Support test planning for virtualized BT scenarios, develop automated test scripts, and contribute to CI pipelines. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of hands-on software development experience specifically focused on Bluetooth technologies, profiles including HFP, A2DP, BLE, and protocol stacks. Experience with Automotive Infotainment or Android Automotive OS (AAOS). Proven experience implementing Android services, working with the Android framework layer (AOSP), or modifying Android BT HAL/stack. Direct experience executing and successfully completing Bluetooth SIG certification. Strong debugging skills using tools like Ellisys / Teledyne Frontline protocol analyzers, Wireshark, and Android system debugging tools including adb, logcat, and bugreports in complex connectivity environments. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Xen hypervisors, managing virtualized Android/Linux environments, and virtualized BT controller interfaces including guest/host pass-through and shared memory. Familiarity with Wi-Fi drivers, BT/Wi-Fi coexistence mechanisms, and Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) certification. Hands-on experience with over-the-air packet sniffers and protocol analyzers including Ellisys, Frontline, and Wireshark. Deep understanding of Linux Bluetooth stacks including BlueZ and Fluoride/GD. Pay: $50.00 - $90.00 per hour Experience: Bluetooth: 5 years (Preferred) Automotive Infotainment or Android Automotive OS (AAOS).: 1 year (Preferred) Work Location: Remote
