Key Responsibilities
Create a welcoming, reassuring environment for patients from the moment they enter the treatment room.
Assist Dr. Scheive chairside during a wide range of procedures, anticipating needs and ensuring seamless patient care.
Prepare, maintain, and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments, upholding OSHA and infection control standards.
Take and update patient medical histories, chart treatment details, and maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation.
Provide patient education and clear post-treatment instructions with empathy and care.
Support team operations by helping with lab case tracking, supply management, and overall office flow.
Contribute to a collaborative, positive team culture by participating in huddles, meetings, and cross-office support.
Qualifications
Compliance with Illinois dental assisting requirements (including X-ray certification).
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to help patients feel comfortable and cared for.
Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with dental technology/software.
A genuine desire to support patient well-being and collaborate as part of a team.
Experience preferred, but we welcome eager learners—mentorship and support will be provided.
Compensation is as follows:
Tier 1: Foundations (pay range: $15–22/hour): For those newer to the field or still building core skills. Focus on mastering sterilization, room setup, radiographs, iTero scanning, and four-handed dentistry.
Tier 2: Proficient (pay range: $23–28/hour): For those confident across daily clinical tasks and able to support more advanced procedures. Trusted with patient education, treatment flow, and charting accuracy.
Tier 3: Advanced / Leadership (pay range: $29–40/hour with potential for additional incentives such as profit-sharing): For highly skilled team members who bring efficiency, mentorship, and leadership to the practice. Capable of supporting complex procedures, solving problems independently, and contributing to systems improvement.
