Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description Maintenance MechanicResponsible for the safe troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.Responsibilities:Follow all company's safety policies and procedures.Follow job specific Work Instructions which pertain to the job assignment.Receive and interpret instructions, work orders, and blueprints covering, scheduled andemergency repair, installations, and inspections of work to be done.Operate production machinery.Test and inspects equipment for defects and malfunctioning such as misalignment, wear,failure, insufficient lubrication, need for improvements, etc.6. Determine best way of making repairs, replacements, and installations to minimizeinterruption of production.Make permanent or temporary repairs or adjustments as needed and directed.Advise supervisor when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimizedamage and the status of temporary repairs and constructions.9. Dismantle, clean, repair, adjust, install, assemble, and generally maintain all mechanicalequipment to conform to safety and efficient operating conditions.10. Assemble and align gears, bearings, shafts, and other component parts involving theapplication of press, sliding and running fits.11. Set up and operate simple machine tools such as drill press, pipe threader, power saw,etc. for minor machining operations.Babbitt and scrape bearings as required.Replace belts, sprockets, chain drives, and other component parts.Erect scaffolding and perform simple rigging as needed.Install piping, fixtures, new equipment panel boards, etc.Connect, set up, and operate torch and welding equipment at all angles to weld joints, cutparts, build up surfaces, fabricate parts, etc.17. Maintain a safe, clean, work area.Requirements:High School diploma or GED.Associate degree in industrial maintenance or journeyman status is preferred.2-5 years of previous experience in an industrial setting is preferred.Ability to operate mobile industrial equipment and pass required Company training.Experience working with large overhead cranes and material handling equipment is desiredAbility to work overtime on short notice is required.#ZRCH
