Maintenance Manager - Perm - Petersburg, VA- ASAP

We are seeking a proven Maintenance Manager to lead a multi shift maintenance team supporting a heavy duty fleet and related equipment. This role requires a hands on leader who drives safety, efficiency, and technician development while ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise mechanics and technicians across shifts Oversee preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel and alternative fuel vehicles, containers, and heavy equipment Plan and schedule work to minimize downtime and improve productivity Ensure all work meets safety, DOT, OSHA, and regulatory standards Conduct quality inspections, coaching, training, and performance management Manage shop inventory, budgets, vendors, and maintenance documentation Oversee complex diagnostics and provide technical guidance Qualifications High school diploma or GED ASE T Master Certification preferred, with T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, and T7 certifications 3 plus years of heavy equipment maintenance experience 1 plus year of supervisory or lead technician experience Strong knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance Solid waste or similar industry experience preferred Work Environment Outdoor, hands on role Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds Job Type: Full-time Pay: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) matching Health insurance Paid time off Work Location: In person
