If you're ready to grow your skills and share in the Legacy mission of making life better for others, we invite you to consider this opportunity.The Robert Stone Dow Neuroscience Laboratories at the Legacy Research Institute in Portland, Oregon, is seeking an 80% FTE Research Assistant 1 to play an active role in research focusing on the function of perineuronal net- and CREB-regulated transcriptional pathways in behavior and memory formation. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, team-oriented, and expanding research group in the Impey and Sorg labs and participate at all levels of the project, including functional genomic assays, RNAscope single-molecule in situ hybridization, rodent transgenic models, molecular biology, cell culture, and immunohistochemistry. Applicants should have a BA/BS in a biology-related major and previous research experience is preferred. We plan to fill this position as soon as possible. It provides, under close supervision of a Principal Investigator, general and technical assistance in support of a specific research program, including (but not limited to): clerical tasks; laboratory maintenance; ordering and inventorying laboratory supplies; and production and collection of scientific data. Research assistants at this level, unlike higher-level research assistants, would not be expected to perform their own research.Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or other field related to specific study, or equivalent experience.
