Rail Fabricator Miscellaneous Metals
Rail Fabricator We are seeking a highly skilled Rail Fabricator to join our miscellaneous metals team. This role is ideal for a candidate with extensive experience fabricating and assembling complex railing systems with a strong focus on quality, precision, and efficiency.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Fabricate and assemble railings including stairs, guardrails, handrails, ornamental rails, etc.Interpret shop drawings, field measurements, and specifications to ensure accurate fabricationPerform layout, cutting, fitting, welding, and finishing of various metals (steel, stainless, aluminum)Ensure all work meets quality standards and project specificationsCollaborate with shop supervisors, project managers, and detailers to resolve fabrication challengesMaintain production schedules and communicate delays or issues proactivelyOperate shop equipment safely and efficiently (saws, welders, grinders, etc.)Assist with training and mentoring less experienced fabricators as neededMaintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocolsQualifications 710+ years of experience in miscellaneous metals fabrication, with a strong focus on railingsProven ability to fabricate complex and custom railing systems independentlyStrong knowledge of welding techniques (MIG, TIG; stainless/aluminum experience preferred)Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and specificationsFamiliarity with industry standards and codes related to railing systemsHigh attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanshipRequirements High school diploma or GED (trade school preferred but not required)Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical shop work (standing, bending, lifting)Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervisionReliable transportation and valid driver's licenseAbility to work overtime as needed to meet deadlinesMust pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background checkBenefits Competitive pay based on experience and skill levelHealth, dental, and life insurance (includes vision)401(k) with employer match/profit sharingFull-time, 1st shift (MondayFriday + overtime as needed)Paid vacation and holidaysShepard Steel Co., Inc. is an Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer
