Utilizes established techniques, standards and tools like computer aided drafting software to prepare technical drawings. Coordinates and consults with engineers, project leads, sales, or designers to complete projects.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Create standardized products drawings for existing product lines of precast concrete products.Assist as needed to work with drafting and engineering team on projectsCommunicate with sales staff and management to complete projects based on deadlinesWork with the production team to create accurate drawings and detailsUse computer assisted drafting software like AutoCad and SolidWorksMeasure forms and products in the production manufacturing areas and take those measurements to create accurate drawingsRegular, reliable and predictable attendance is necessary in order to perform the essential functions of this position.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written, and have basic communication skills; interpersonal, written, and verbal, for dealing with all levels and associates, and reading instruction and parts manuals.Experience using Solid Works 3D is highly regardedSkilled in use of Auto CAD is highly regardedMust be able to read blue printsWorking knowledge of ASMe, ASTM and AWS specsFamiliar with coatings/paintsMust be able to read a tape measure with extreme accuracyMust have above average computer skillsNeed to be able to work on several projects and keep work organizedEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalent required, additional technical education and/or training is preferred.College drafting courses would be preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
