Company: Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc.Locations: Richmond, VAAdditional Locations: Virginia statewideWork Site: On SiteReq ID: 223390Position OverviewWetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is seeking an entry-level (0 to 2 years of related experience) Survey Technician to join our team in Richmond, Virginia.Job DutiesWorking in a team environmentAssisting in the performance of wetland locations, tree surveys, topographic and bathymetric surveys, natural and cultural resource surveys, construction surveys, etc. Capture land information precisely to ensure that development schedules are maintained and projects stay within budgetAssist in summarizing and reporting on observations and data collected in the fieldOperate state-of-the-art survey equipmentRead and follow maps; navigate (in vehicle and on foot) through a variety of terrainsPositively and effectively communicate with property owners and agencies to arrange for necessary access and workProperly and safely drive, operate and maintain vehicle in a variety of terrains and surfaces (including ATVs and boats) QualificationsMinimum Requirements High School diploma or GEDAbility to perform arithmetic operations, geometry and trigonometry computationsWillingness to regularly travel regionally to support projects outside the Washington D.C. metropolitan areaAbility to work safely and independently in the outdoors under a wide range of conditions and weather typesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Land Desktop, and GIS a plusAbility to work independently and with a teamPreferredAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in surveying, environmental sciences, forestry, wildlife management, arboriculture, or a related discipline is a plusISA Certified Arborist Additional Information Additional InformationWhat We Offer:*Paid time off and paid holidays.
