We focus on decentralized, edge-based systems that allow robotic teams to operate reliably in complex environments.Robotics Engineering InternLocation: Claremont, CA (Onsite)Employment Type: Internship (Full-time or Part-time)Duration: Summer 2026Compensation: $20–$40/hour, depending on experienceRole OverviewAs a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will contribute to the design, prototyping, and testing of robotic systems including UAVs and ground robots. This is a hands-on role focused on rapid iteration and real-world deployment. You will work closely with electrical, software, and autonomy engineers to build integrated robotic platforms.ResponsibilitiesDesign and prototype mechanical systems for robotic platforms (UAVs, ground systems, hybrid systems)Build and refine structures, mechanisms, and enclosures for field useSupport rapid prototyping using CAD, 3D printing, machining, and off-the-shelf componentsAssist with system integration, testing, and field deploymentWork on multiple projects with fast iteration cyclesBasic QualificationsPursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related fieldStrong fundamentals in mechanical design, dynamics, and materialsExperience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred, Fusion 360, or similar)Hands-on experience building physical systems (robots, drones, vehicles, etc.)Comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with UAVs, mobile robotics, or mechatronic systemsFamiliarity with manufacturing processes and rapid prototyping toolsExperience with simulation toolsExperience working on small engineering teams
