FP&A Specialist

Purpose of PositionThe North America FP&A Specialist has responsibility to deliver standard monthly reporting on the company’s financial results and forecast to Gems Setra leadership and Fortive Corporate, assist the annual financial planning process across the global Gems Setra organization and partner with business leaders on understanding, evaluating, and driving financial performance. A successful FP&A Specialist must have a strong focus on accuracy/timeliness, and an innate drive for continuous improvement.Join our team today!Essential FunctionsKey player in the monthly close process to ensure global delivery of on time reporting of our monthly financial results and updated financial forecast to Gems Setra leadership.Integral partner in the annual budget process from financial target setting to building budget schedules and deck to facilitate clarity with Gems Setra leadership and Fortive CorporatePartner with global FP&A team to consolidate North America bookings and creating first pass North America sales forecast utilizing book turn rates, backlog availability, past due backlog reduction assumptions, and identifying any gaps to current financial forecast.Partner with Operations team to understand product margins across the portfolio and identify areas to optimize product mix to drive margin expansion.Partner with functional leaders on fixed cost spending starting with target creation, monthly variance analysis, forward looking risk and analysis helping manage costs within annual plan targets.Assist with global consolidation and submission of financial and statistic information to Fortive Corporate through One Stream consolidation system. Ad-hoc analysis to understand business performance on a variety of factors including material margin, labor productivity, indirect spend, and fixed cost leverage as needed depending on monthly business performance, trends, and requests from functional business partners.Drive business analysis and business case development for company initiatives and large capital projectsDotted line responsibility for the financial statements and forecasts generated by the company’s controllers and focus on process to ensure deadlines are met and financial reporting is accurate.Education & Experience RequiredMinimum of 5 years in high visibility planning roles with demonstrated success within a manufacturing environmentMinimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance or accountingSolid understanding of current industry standard business intelligence solutions – including Power BI and Business ObjectsRobust knowledge of US GAAPExcellent interpersonal skills and effective communications skills Strong analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot sophisticated datasetsOrganized, with a strong process and detail focus to deliver high quality and timely resultsHigh energy, bias for action with continuous improvement mentality; recognizes and resolves issuesTeam-player demeanor with the ability and willingness to tackle challengesExcellent digital literacy, particularly MS Excel and ERP system experience (JDE and One Stream ideal).Fortive Corporation OverviewFortive’s essential technology makes the world stronger, safer, and smarter.
