Project Engineer III

RK&K's Colorado Design group is growing! We are hiring a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our team in our Lakewood, Colorado office. As a Senior Water Resources Engineer, you will utilize and advance your skills in Green Infrastructure, Stormwater Management, Erosion and Sediment Control, Hydrology & Hydraulics Design, Watershed Studies, and Environmental Restoration and Stabilization. Essential FunctionsOperate as a subject matter expert in water resources design and analysisDevelop, evaluate, and design stormwater management facilities to support public works infrastructure projects across RK&K's vast portfolioPerform stormwater and drainage system analysis and modelingFloodplain analysis, bridge hydraulics, and scour countermeasure designProactively deliver a wide range of water resource projects including storm water systems, drainage design, flood studies, watershed plans, erosion/sediment control, scour analysis and other related project.Provide excellent client services with a focus on quality and timelinessMeet and work directly with clients and other design team members including project manager, project engineers, design technicians, drafters, surveyors, contractors, inspectors, public agency officials, and clients.Provide office and site visit support for projects in constructionPrepare permit applications for oversight agencies to address the full range of environmental issues and conditions associated with water resources projectsDevelop project scope, schedule and budgets, lead projects, and manage subcontractorsPrepare construction plans, specifications, design reports, technical memoranda, and miscellaneous contract documentsWork with other disciplines on creative solutions to design challenges Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related fieldEight (8) years of experience in Civil Water Resources or Transportation EngineeringExperience with CDOT, MHFD, and/or local Colorado county/municipality projectsColorado PE licenseExperience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, and GISFamiliarity with SWMM, HEC-RAS, HY-8, TR-55, TR-20, or other related softwareExcellent written and oral communication skills Preferred Skills and ExperienceExperience with Open Roads DesignerExperience also in Texas (TxDOT and/or other county/municipalities) Other Duties This job description indicates the general nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under ADA) expected.
