HR Assistant/Program Associate
Founded in 2006, Capitol Language Services, LLC is an independent and local organization that creates educational, affordable, safe, and high-quality environment for children in after school.
Capitol Language Services’ (CLS) main office is located in DC NW area, near Tenleytown. Our afterschool programs operate in the Northwest and Southeast areas. The Human Resources Assistant/ Program Associate will support the executive office in the morning, providing administrative support to the human resources team including record-keeping, file maintenance and Human Resources Information System (HRIS) entry. Additionally, the HR Assistant/Program Associate might be assigned to support the afterschool programs in the afternoon.
This position is ideal for a recent college graduate.

Main Office & Recruitment Support
Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
Completes and files I9 verifications.
Follows up on new-employee background checks.
Schedules meetings with hired employees to review the completion of onboarding tasks.
Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
Tracks status of candidates in the HRIS and responds with follow-ups.
Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
Files documents into appropriate employee electronic files.
Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Cross-Departmental Operations Support
Assists the Executive Director, Office Manager, Assistant Director, and HR Department with different projects and tasks. Including:
Support with administrative tasks, including (but not limited to) document creation and sharing, calendaring, email, and written communications.
Support the daily operations of the various afterschool programs by filling in for instructors and coordinators.
Implement and carry out all CLS policies and procedures.
Report any discrepancies in procedures the executive office.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
At least one-year of office experience required.
Experience in education-related is required.
Knowledge of BambooHR is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
