Senior Project Manager-Water/Wastewater (Corona)
SOFFA is a well-established systems integration firm with over 50 years of experience delivering automation, controls, and SCADA solutions within the water and wastewater industry.We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with direct experience in water/wastewater systems integration, industrial automation, or controls engineering environments to lead complex projects from contract award through completion.This role is responsible for managing technical system integration projects—not traditional commercial construction—requiring close coordination with engineering, controls, and field service teams. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership,technical project experience, and a proactive approach to risk management, scheduling, and client communication.Note: This role is not suited for candidates whose experience is primarily in commercial building or general construction project management.An active PMP certification is required.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage water/wastewater systems integration and automation projects from initiation through closeoutDevelop and maintain detailed project plans including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocationCoordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, controls/automation, procurement, sales, and technical servicesMonitor project performance to ensure milestones, deliverables, and technical requirements are achievedIdentify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain timelines and budgetsManage project financials including forecasting, cost control, and change order managementEnsure compliance with contractual requirements, industry standards, and safety regulationsMaintain accurate project documentation and provide regular status updates to internal leadership and clientsBuild and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and responsivenessQualificationsExperience10+ years of project management experience in water/wastewater systems integration, industrial automation, or controls environments (required)Proven success managing technically complex, multi-disciplinary projectsExperience working with SCADA, PLC-based systems, or industrial control systems strongly preferredEducationBachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field (required)CertificationProject Management Professional (PMP) certification — required and currentRequired Skills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and team coordination skills across technical disciplinesExcellent verbal and written communication abilitiesSolid organizational and time-management skills in a deadline-driven environmentAbility to manage multiple priorities and complex project scopes simultaneouslyExperience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial trackingProficiency in Microsoft Office and Sage (or similar ERP/project accounting tools)Ability to effectively present technical and project information to clients and leadership
