*Job Summary*
Solid Machine is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer who can independently take ownership of complex multi-axis turning and milling programming. The right candidate will be comfortable programming precision components and will have the experience to troubleshoot machining problems, select tooling and cutting parameters, make program adjustments, and continuously improve the manufacturing process.
For an exceptional candidate, this position also offers the opportunity to lead and supervise our CNC lathe team. We are willing to compensate accordingly for someone who combines advanced programing ability with proven leadership skills.

*Core Responsibilities*
* Manage CNC programming for multi-axis live tooling lathes and 4-axis horizontal and vertical mills.
* Develop manufacturing processes, design tooling and fixtures, and create CNC programs using CAD/CAM systems.
* Write and maintain setup sheets, tool sheets, and work instructions.
* Design workholding and fixturing methods to meet customer specs.
* Set machining parameters including speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth of cut.
* Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and GD&T notations.
* Collaborate with management and engineering on new project quotes.
* Optimize machining processes for innovation and efficiency.
* Coordinate with the Production Manager to hit production goals.
* Maintain post-processors to ensure accurate NC code generation.
* Follow all company safety, quality, and maintenance standards.
*Qualifications & Requirements*
* Bring 7+ years of multi-axis CNC lathe and mill programming experience (or proven equivalent ability).
* Use CAD/CAM software like Mastercam and SolidWorks.
* Troubleshoot complex CNC machining jobs independently.
* Write and edit G-code.
* Program for stainless steel and other difficult materials.
* Select cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and workholding.
* Program for extremely tight tolerances.
* Use quality control measuring devices and inspection gauges.
* Experience reading blueprints and understanding GD&T and ANSI Y14.5.
* Improve cycle times, setup times, and tool life.
* Lead or mentor machinists (required for top compensation tier).
* Hold a 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree (preferred).
* Use MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ERP software.
* Communicate effectively with team members and management.
