General Manager | RickhouseJob DescriptionLocated in the heart of the Financial District of San Francisco, Rickhouse is inspired and built from old whiskey barrels, staves, and original charred brick from pre-1906 earthquake. If you have a background in and a passion for leading and managing teams, the General Manager position at Rickhouse may be right for you.We are looking for someone with prior managerial experience in a busy bar, hotel, or restaurant, but other work history may be considered with appropriate managerial experience. Working evenings and weekends is required, the standard work week is Tuesday through Saturday, regular bartending shifts are not required but recommended.The General Manager is ultimately responsible for all bar operations. You should be able to work independently, effectively communicate managerial objectives, effectively complete detail-oriented administrative tasks, and manage a team in a fair manner. Success in this position requires speedy completion of administrative duties and strong attention to detail.The General Manager will report directly to the Operations Director.ResponsibilitiesOversee all bar operations within the barHaving regular bartending shiftsMaintain inventory controls and purchase approved products weeklyDetermine employees’ schedules and manage labor costsCreate cocktail menus under the direction of the Beverage DirectorEnsure bar is well-stocked and cleanWork with facilities team to ensure that the bar stays in good operating orderTrack customer behavior and salesLiaise with and respond to the events team for events booked within the barDirect operations within the bar for special events as set forth by contracts signed by the events teamAppropriately delegate tasks to staffManage a team of bartenders and barbacks in a fair and productive mannerHire, train, promote, and, when necessary, discipline staffLiaise with marketing team on campaigns, social media, branding, publicityQualifications2 years of Managerial experience in a bar, restaurant or equivalent is preferredRecord of critical thinking skillsStrong interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and good organizational skillsAbility to complete administrative duties accurately and within deadlinesCustomer service focusKnowledge of food, beverage, and hospitality industriesCalm under pressureComfortable with hospitality and sales technology platformsFamiliarity with Craftable and Square for Restaurants is nice but not requiredDegree in business, management, hospitality, or equivalent is a plusBenefits$24 - $30/hr depending on experience + tips 401(k) with employer match after first yearHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceParental leaveCommuter check tax benefitsCompany-sponsored trips and eventsPlease send your cover letter and resume to apply.
