Candidates without crane experience have worked well. Some hires came from packaging or manufacturing estimation. Crane experience is a nice-to-have, not required. They learn from sales directors, estimating managers, GM, and service techs.Who will this person be reporting to? Estimating ManagerKey Stake Holders - Inside & outside sales teams are the primary stakeholders. The GM onsite is also a key stakeholder. Limited interaction with service technicians unless a job requires clarificationPosition Summary: The Estimator will generate quotes for maintenance and repairs needed after compliance inspections are performed at customer's site on overhead lifting equipment. In this role you will research materials needed to complete repairs and maintenance by contacting vendors for pricing and availability of needed material. Once pricing and availability are determined a quote is generated and supplied to Sales Department.Duties & Responsibilities:Works to quote from information gathered by Field Operatives during inspections Industries: Government, Construction, Paper, Tissue, Machine Shops, ManufacturingUnderstands governing bodies and the codes related to overhead lifting.Works with Service and Sales Department staff to support customers cranes safety and compliance.Read electrical and mechanical prints & schematics (Support and training available)Stay current on existing and emerging product and technologiesGenerate quotes that result in profitable sales ordersReports competitive conditions and feedback from customers to managementMaintains ethical, cooperative manufacturer relationships consistent with company image and company branch goals in the marketplaceAttends product training classes to develop superior product knowledge to handle customer applicationsDevelops an effective and productive working relationship with inside Sales Staff, Service Department Staff, and Production Staff; participates with all to gain knowledge and provide customers with solutions.Maintains a professional working image in self and work environmentPerforms other duties as instructed or required to successfully complete the jobEducation & Qualifications:Associates degree in sales or closely related field with three (3) years of relevant sales and industry experience or equivalent combined education and on the job experience, preferredComputer background to include Microsoft Office (suite), Sage 100 ERPCommitment to demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactionsProven proficiency in the use of a personal computer accompanied by a strong aptitude for technical applicationsDemonstrated time management and organizational skillsDevelop knowledge of the industry within a given marketDemonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats, demonstrated capability to develop strong interpersonal working relationships and work in a team environmentStrong customer service orientation
