Position Title: Human Resources GeneralistLocation: Richmond, Virginia, United StatesWork Hours: Monday to Friday / Full time - Permanent / 40 hours a week / Onsite Full Time / 4pm – 1230am ShiftStart Date: ASAPClient Offers: Competitive Compensation, Benefits, 401K, Vacation, PTO and more!Role OverviewBased in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment, the HR Generalist plays a critical role in supporting a 24/7 operation. The position will initially operate on the day shift (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) for onboarding and training, before transitioning to an evening shift (4:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m., Monday to Friday) to provide dedicated HR coverage.This role is responsible for delivering a broad range of human resources services that foster a compliant, efficient, and employee-focused workplace. Working closely with on-site HR team members, the HR Generalist ensures consistency across key functions including recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, and HR administration. The role also contributes to North American and global HR initiatives, aligning local practices with broader organizational strategies.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with site leadership to provide guidance and support on confidential HR matters and special projects.Manage full-cycle recruitment, including:Reviewing and developing job descriptionsPosting roles across appropriate platformsSourcing candidates using recruitment toolsCoordinating with external recruitment agenciesScheduling and participating in interviewsPreparing and issuing offer letters and related documentationMaintaining accurate candidate records within the applicant tracking systemPrepare and manage employee documentation, including compensation changes, disciplinary actions, and terminations.Support the development and enhancement of HR processes and systems.Create, update, and maintain employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.Lead and contribute to HR projects (e.g., compensation benchmarking, process improvements).Support global HR programs and initiatives.Provide backup support for payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.Assist with workers’ compensation claims and case management.Interpret and administer company policies, providing guidance to managers and employees.Track and report on HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, and absenteeism.Prepare and support monthly HR analytics reporting.Advise managers on employee relations matters and workplace concerns.Communicate HR updates and initiatives to employees effectively.Support other company locations as needed; occasional travel within Canada, the United States, and internationally may be required.Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance and Health & Safety standards.Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications and CompetenciesEducation & ExperienceAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferredMinimum of 4 years of experience in an HR Generalist roleMust have experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment Communication SkillsFluency in English (spoken and written) requiredStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiencesProblem-Solving & Organizational SkillsAbility to think strategically and consider the broader business impactStrong analytical and decision-making skills in complex situationsExcellent multitasking and prioritization abilities in a fast-paced environmentTechnical SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)Analytical SkillsAbility to calculate and interpret HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, ratios, trends)Basic financial and data analysis capabilitiesCertificationsPMP, SHRM-CP, or similar certification considered an assetAdditional RequirementsStrong knowledge of U.S. employment laws and regulationsExperience developing HR policies, procedures, and job descriptionsHigh level of confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive informationExperience with LinkedIn Recruiter and U.S. payroll processing is an assetMust be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorshipWillingness and ability to travel internationally as required
