Diesel Mechanic

Diesel MechanicSchedule: Second shift, starting at 2:00 p.m., working 10-11 hours a day, 50-60 hours a week. Monday - Friday, occasional Saturday's.Pay: $22 to $32 per hour, based on experience.Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Monroe, LA. This role is responsible for advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy diesel equipment within our fleet. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to high quality workmanship and safety.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform advanced engine and exhaust diagnostics including DPF systems for MACK and CumminsDiagnose and repair hydraulic systems and electrical and wiring issuesDiagnose and service air brake systems including Bendix and MeritorPerform suspension and steering diagnostics and repairs on multiple system typesDiagnose and repair both automatic and manual transmissionsComplete welding and fabrication tasks as neededMaintain organization of tools, workspace, and shop housekeepingUtilize McNeilus equipment knowledge when applicableComplete required documentation, maintain accurate service records, and follow company proceduresOperate company vehicles and equipment when needed (CDL required)Requirements2 or more years of relevant experience in diesel or heavy truck fleet maintenance.
