Job SummaryBarbee Montessori School (K3-7) is actively recruiting licensed and experienced candidates for a Grade 7 Montessori teaching position. A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) teacher provides an instructional program for regular and special education students which is appropriate to their educational needs and developmental level. The educational program is offered in an equitable, multi-cultural setting and teaches all children to think deeply, critically and creatively. The teacher's work supports the MPS strategic plan . At the time of hire, the selected candidate will need to submit one (1) letter of recommendation dated within the last year and signed by the author and official transcripts conferring his/her undergraduate degree. QualificationsMontessori AMI or AMS credentialing for the posted grade band is required. Applicants that do not currently hold this credential or have not completed a program awarding this credential, may still qualify for the position if they enroll in and complete a district-approved Montessori credentialing program within the district's credentialing schedule, up to five years. Sponsorships may be available to help cover this cost of credentialing. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be currently licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to teach this specific grade level and / or content area or can obtain the required license by the start of the 2026-27 school year. Applicants that hold the AMI or AMS credentialing may still qualify if they are willing and able to complete the requirements to earn a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Montessori license for the posted grade level band. Pending graduates should include a letter from their educational institution documenting that they have met the requirements for graduation and teacher certification. Pay, Benefits, & Work ScheduleThe teacher salary range starts at $54,386 and increases according to the set salary schedule based on education beyond the required bachelor's degree and previous years of fully-licensed K-12 teaching experience.
