The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.Schedule: 37.5-hour work week, Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, rotating shift to be determined by the hiring manager upon hire.Location: 3 Delaware Drive, Suite 205, Lake Success, NY 11042Primary Responsibilities:Greets patients, family members and guests with a friendly smileAssists patients with signing in and completing registrationEnters and scans patient's demographic and insurance information into EpicVerifies insurance eligibility and benefit information; informs patients of insurance benefitsFollow the Payment Security policy and procedures according to Optum Medical guidelinesAbility to maintain a work queue list- complete any pending actions i.e. referrals, scheduling appointmentsCheck In and Check Out patientsAnswers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messagesAssists physician and clinical staff by coordinating follow up care for patients; schedules referral appointments for patients and obtains authorization for diagnostic testingSends patient records to primary care physicianAssists with other tasks as assignedObtain accurate and updated patient information, such as name, address and insurance informationPerform insurance verification on the date of serviceObtain patient signatures for required documentsAdhere to the standards identified via Sparq regarding Optum Employee PoliciesWork cohesively with fellow employees to achieve specific team goalsComfortable working in high pace environmentAssure the continuity of care through scheduling and tracking systemsComply with administrative policies to ensure quality of careDemonstrate precision and efficiency in scanning documents and monitoring the fax server, retrieving and / or scanning documents and assigning to the appropriate electronic chartAll employees are expected to keep abreast of current medical requirements relevant to their position, which includes maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPAA and OSHA requirementsAbility to be cross trainedPerforms other duties as assignedWhat are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group?
