The chain consists of 24 ShopRite stores, 2 PriceRite stores, and 1 Fresh Grocer with locations throughout Northern New Jersey and Rockland County, New York.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Retail Registered Dietitian at our new ShopRite in Jersey City, NJ, opening this spring! The Retail Registered Dietitian will be responsible for providing nutritional counseling, medical nutrition therapy, and nutrition education to customers, associates, and local community partners.We are seeking a dietitian to work in our supermarket to educate our customers, associates and the surrounding community on food products, overall wellness and trends in nutrition.The dietitian will be available in store to speak with and answer our customers’ questions on nutrition, to teach cooking classes, lead food demonstrations, store tours and educational sessions.The dietitian will be required to host an array of nutrition focused events specific to their store each month.QualificationsBachelor’s degree with major in relevant field, such as nutrition, dietetics or food science, granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university.Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association.Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential with active registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and DieteticsMaintains dietetic registration and continuing education requirements.2-5 years’ experience in nutrition field desirableDietetics and Nutritional Counseling skillsExperience in Medical Nutrition TherapyExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong interest in health and wellness.Strong interpersonal and media skills.Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.Ability to generate ideas and think creatively.Ability to function independently and work without immediate supervision.Manage associate wellness initiatives, community outreach and in-store programming simultaneously.
