CNC Router Technician — Architectural Signage Fabrication
About The RoleStep into a fast-paced sign manufacturing shop where precision matters. As our CNC Router Technician, you’ll transform digital files into perfectly machined components that become channel letters, cabinets, ADA-compliant signage, and dimensional letters. You’ll balance programming know-how with hands-on machining, keeping quality high and production on schedule.A Day in the LifeBegin by reviewing shop drawings, production files, and cut sheets, confirming material thicknesses, tolerances, and finishing needs.Import artwork from Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Flexi, EnRoute (or similar), validate tool paths, optimize nesting, and maximize material utilization.Load and secure acrylic, aluminum, PVC, wood, and composite sheets. Set tooling, zero axes, and dial in feeds and speeds.Run CNC routers, monitor cut quality, and make real-time adjustments to tooling, speeds, and offsets for consistent results.Inspect parts for accuracy, finish, and dimensional tolerance; correct issues or escalate to the production supervisor as needed.Coordinate with fabrication, paint, and assembly teams to keep work moving smoothly and on time.Handle routine maintenance—bit changes, cleaning, lubrication—and keep your area spotless, managing dust collection and waste properly.What You’ll BringHands-on experience operating CNC routers (sign-industry experience preferred).Ability to read technical drawings and production layouts with confidence.Familiarity with common sign materials and fabrication methods.Basic computer and file management skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy.Comfort lifting 50+ lbs and thriving in a fast-paced production environment.Preferred ExtrasExperience with MultiCam, AXYZ, ShopSabre, Laguna, or CamMaster systems.Knowledge of cutter/tool selection and machining strategies.Background in sign fabrication (channel letters, cabinets, ADA, dimensional letters).Forklift experience and an understanding of lean/production workflows.Work EnvironmentManufacturing/fabrication shop with dust, noise, and active production equipment.Long periods of standing.Strict adherence to OSHA and company safety practices.How Success Is MeasuredAccuracy of parts and reduction of scrap.On-time delivery of routed components.High machine uptime and diligent maintenance.Quality finishes and collaborative teamwork.BenefitsWe offer competitive salary, medical, life insurance, 401K, and vacation PTO.
