Job Title: Payments Solutions ArchitectLocation: Denver, CODuration :- Long Term ContractJob SummaryWe are seeking a seasoned Payments Domain Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Solutions Architect to lead the design, integration, and optimization of payment routing and processing solutions.This role will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and third-party partners to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant payment solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in payment systems and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes within a large enterprise environment.Mandatory SkillsPayment systemsRouting enginesPayment processing workflowsKey ResponsibilitiesEngage with business and technology stakeholders to understand payment processing and routing requirements.Act as the primary Payment Domain SME, providing solution guidance across business, engineering, and partner teams.Design and propose end-to-end payment routing and integration solutions aligned with enterprise standards and industry best practices.Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and third parties to gather, analyze, and validate requirements.Define requirements and acceptance criteria, ensuring coverage of edge cases in payment processing.Recommend routing configurations, customization approaches, and integration strategies (rules, workflows, interfaces).Conduct solution walkthroughs, architecture reviews, and product demonstrations.Represent IT in client, vendor, and third-party discussions ensuring alignment and clarity.Support lifecycle activities from presales through implementation and handover.Identify team skill gaps and drive enablement and training initiatives.Develop and maintain architecture documentation, solution proposals, and implementation plans.Ensure compliance with PCI, security, and enterprise governance standards.Skills & Experience RequiredProven experience as a Payment Domain SME in large-scale enterprise environments.Strong understanding of end-to-end payment processing workflows:AuthorizationClearingSettlementReconciliationDispute handlingExpertise in payment routing engines, transaction decisioning, and rule-based routing.Hands-on experience with multiple payment methods:CardsDigital walletsAlternative payment methodsExperience integrating with:Payment gatewaysAcquirersProcessorsThird-party payment service providersStrong experience designing payment platforms in complex ecosystems.Ability to architect secure, scalable, and highly available solutions.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in high-volume transaction environments.Ability to translate technical designs into business-focused solutions.Preferred QualificationsGood understanding of PCI DSS standards and secure payment data handling.Familiarity with payment-related regulations and compliance requirements.Experience working with security and compliance teams.Demonstrated experience in solution or technical leadership roles.Strong communication and presentation skills with senior stakeholders.Experience in Telecom and/or Retail domains.Experience working in large, regulated enterprise environments.Experience mentoring and training teams on payment solutions.
