Senior Forensic Engineer - Electrical
The RoleThe Senior Forensic Electrical Engineer is responsible for investigating damage, failure, or distress involving existing MEP systems, machinery, and equipment. The role leads investigative projects from start to finish, coordinating with clients, conducting site visits, managing resources, and performing engineering analyses to determine root cause.Work includes reviewing applicable building codes, documenting findings, and producing clear, defensible reports, while establishing schedules to ensure timely and professional project delivery.The ideal candidate has an established client network and is experienced in building and maintaining strong professional relationships.This is a remote role. Candidates must reside in or around the following areas:BostonChicagoNYCPhiladelphiaPortlandSan Francisco Bay / Sacramento areas.SeattleWashington D.C.In This Role, You WillAct as a primary lead on projects.Coordinate with clients to set up site visits and complete deliverables.Manage project resources and set/meet deadlines to ensure that projects stay on schedule.Produce project reports that synthesize data collected from onsite inspections, laboratory examinations, testing, research, and performance analysis to determine the most likely cause of failure and provide recommendations on repair or replacement.Perform site visits and laboratory examinations to collect data on residential, commercial, and industrial properties.Review and interprets relevant building codes as necessary for issues about the scope of work.If requested, oversee the development of repair or replacement design scope. Make independent decisions for projects including selection of analysis and testing methods and allocating resources relevant to the project.Perform additional duties as assigned.What You BringActive PE license requiredBachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experienceCFEI Certification preferred10 years of experience in forensic electrical engineering preferred; relevant experience in design consideredProven ability to write comprehensive technical reports on inspection resultsStrong organizational and time management skillsWho We AreYA is an international professional services organization providing forensic consulting, engineering, risk mitigation, and related services.
