Machine Operator Assistant
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures at all times
Verify quality specifications using instruments, machine readings, audits, and inspections
Maintain working knowledge of extrusion and related support operations
Operate equipment and make standard process adjustments as needed
Perform and document operator-level preventive maintenance (PM)
Support extrusion processes (screen changes, material handling, etc.)
Load and unload materials and maintain glue and ink supplies
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure production goals are met
Notify Shift Manager of equipment repairs or modifications needed
Maintain clean and organized equipment and work areas
Perform other duties as assigned
Maintain commitment to food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality standards
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required
Prior experience as an Extruder Helper preferred
Skills
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to read a ruler and follow measurements
Ability to work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment
Physical Demands
Frequent lifting up to 65 lbs
Frequent walking and pushing/pulling
Constant standing (67–100% of the shift)
Occasional climbing and confined space work
Rare sitting
Safety Requirements
ANSI Z-87 certified safety glasses required in manufacturing areas
ASTM-certified steel toe footwear required
Hearing protection available in factory areas
Hard hats required in construction or development areas
Face shield or goggles required when working with inks, cleaners, or catalysts
Food Safety Commitment
Must follow all product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality system requirements to ensure food-safe production.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
