Our client, A large transmission & distribution contractor, is seeking aDirector of Operationsto lead itssubstation construction businessin California.
This role is responsible forsafe, efficient, and profitable executionof substation projects, along withoversight of business performance and growthfor the group.ResponsibilitiesOversee execution ofhigh-voltage substation construction projects , including bothcivil and electrical scope (sitework, foundations, underground/duct bank, structural)
Manage multiple concurrent projects through project managers, superintendents, and field teams
Ensure performance acrosssafety, schedule, cost, and quality
Maintain accountability forP&L performance , including forecasting, cost control, and margin management
Support and contribute torevenue growth and expansionof the substation business
Interface withutility clientsand support ongoing relationship management
Lead hiring, development, and oversight of project and field staffQualifications10–20+ years of experience with acontractor in substation or T&D construction
Background deliveringlarge-scale substation projectswith bothcivil and electrical components
Experience in roles such as:
Senior Project Manager
Operations Manager
Project Executive
Director-level leadership
Demonstrated experiencerunning or contributing to a P&L
Track record xywuqvp of supporting or leadinggrowth of a business unit or regional operation
Strong understanding offield operations, project execution, and production managementAdditional ConsiderationsExperience growing or helping scale a business line toward$50M annual revenueis preferred
Candidates should come from thecontractor side , with a focus ondriving safe, profitable production
This is an operations-focused role withdirect involvement in project execution and business performance
