We embrace the community, culture, and spirit of Folly Beach while also being a steward in the evolution of the town as a coastal destination.POSITION SUMMARY:The main function of the Assistant General Manager (AGM) is to assist the General Manager in the daily operation of the Hotel, as well as oversee the property in the absence of the General Manager (GM). The Assistant General Manager is responsible for managing the day to day operation of Front Desk, Bell, Housekeeping, Maintenance, F+B and Administrative Teams in conjunction with the GM and making sure that all departments run smoothly and efficientlyMAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented mannerAct as an ambassador to the Hotel and ensure that guests are receiving an unparalleled guest experienceRemain readily accessible to guests and employees at all times.Answer phones, make reservations, check in and check out guests as neededRead EOS reports upon arrival for the day, noting and addressing significant events that may require actionBe aware of the status of the availability of rooms to ensure revenue is maximizedMaintain effective communication between all Hotel DepartmentsMaintain effective communication and coordination with Corporate Departments.Monitor all no-show charges, research credit card discrepancies and refunds, research adjustments, respond to chargebacksInspect public areas for cleanliness, overall conditions as well as potential safety hazardsInvestigate, report and coordinate all guest and employee accidentsMonitor and enforce existing SOPsAssist in the selection and training of new employeesInspect guestrooms and provide feedback to Housekeeping and Maintenance DepartmentsMonitor and update Property Management System as requiredAssist in evaluating the performance of all employeesDay to Day management responsibilities including scheduling, motivating, assigning, training, purchasing and policy and procedural assessmentsAssist in Administrative duties related to Payroll, Accounts Payable and Human Resources.Monitor Reputation Management and respond to all reviews.Provide assistance to Restaurant, Coffee Shop or Banquets as neededSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:GUEST SERVICE DIRECTOR/MANAGERHOUSEKEEPING DIRECTOR/MANAGERJOB REQUIREMENTS:Education: College Degree preferredExperience: A minimum of 3 years in Hotel or Hospitality/Entertainment Industry ManagementSkills:Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accuratelyMust work well in stressful, high pressure situations with minimal supervisionBe effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guestsMust have the ability to understand and analyze complex information and data from various sourcesGreat problem solving with attention to detailAbility to understand and affect financial informationMust be able to work flexible shifts with and average of 50+ hours per weekMaintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel standards and as required by scheduling, which may vary from week to week according to the needs of the HotelMaintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.Comply at all times with Tides and Avocet Hospitality Groups standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient Hotel operations.Must be a team playerExcellent organization and time management skillsHave a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guestsWORKING CONDITIONS:This is NOT a desk position.
