At VETRO, we are driving innovation in broadband infrastructure, ensuring networks are built and managed with precision, speed, and scalability.Location: Portland HQ/ HybridPosition OverviewReporting to the VP of Engineering, we are seeking a Senior Product Engineer with full-stack experience to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for designing and implementing the features and platforms that power the global VETRO broadband platform in order to deliver the next generation of GIS fiber management software.Key Responsibilities, Including But Not Limited ToDesign and develop features for our web based fiber management platform and enable our customers to design, sell, and manage their next-gen broadband networks.Technically challenging GIS-based systems including state of the art tile servers, fiber network models, and interactive maps. All built on open source libraries and tools.Web services that extend the VETRO platform to work with other critical systemsSupport the production systems that serve our global platform by triaging bugs and application performance issues, and periodically participating in on-call rotationsQualifications5+ years development and shipping cloud-native applications and platform services to production2+ years experience working with contemporary Javascript frameworks (e.g., Vue, React) or similar.5+ years experience working with large relational datasetsSolid understanding of cloud services and their best practices (AWS preferred)Ability to break down product requirements into deliverable softwareEnthusiasm to work on new things and a readiness to jump in and contributeWhat Skills And Experience Are HelpfulHaving worked with spatial data (for example via PostGIS)Experience with real time data streamingKnowledge of how and when to use various persistent and ephemeral data storage technologiesAn understanding of frontend mapping technologies (Leaflet, MapboxGL.js)Effective working within Agile Development MethodologiesBenefitsCompetitive salary commensurate with experience.Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans with 401K match, remote work stipend, Learning & Development fund, and flexible vacation and PTO.Professional development opportunities and career growth within an innovative and rapidly growing company.Flexible work arrangements with a remote-first approach.Work EnvironmentThis role has the ability to either work in our Portland, ME HQ or hybridIn a hybrid role you are expected to have a designated space that is conducive to productivity and conducting confidential video calls.
