Ski perks (vary based on employment status) may include Deer Valley season pass, free skiing or riding at other Alterra Resorts and select local Utah resorts Friends and family ski discounts, free staff ski lessons and discounted rentals (winter staff only) Subsidized meals at Employee Dining Rooms offered for staff while on shift Subsidized housing options available for seasonal full-time staff Discounts for staff members at restaurants, shops, and service providers in Park City Healthcare options are available for staff members 401k plan with company matchPURPOSE OF POSITION:The Royal Street Caf é Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Chef with all food production for operations at the Royal Street Caf é .RESPONSIBILITIES:Stay knowledgeable of current food trends to develop new menu itemsOperate the kitchen and direct kitchen personnelMaintain consistency of product with great attention to food quality, taste, and presentationControl food costs based on forecasting, efficient food production, planned requisitioning, and careful attention to established product specificationsControl labor costs and carry out administrative functions pertaining to forecasting, payroll, scheduling, recruiting, training, supervising, discipline, etc.Organize an efficient flow of production and maintain minimum but adequate staffingSet up a control system through recipes, assuring quality and portion consistencyMaintain safe and sanitary working conditions for employees and with accordance to health codesEnsure that high standard of dress, personal hygiene, and safety is maintained by all employeesMaintain a general quality and style consistency in food offerings between lodgesEnsure proper maintenance and care is exhibited by all employees toward the operations, equipment, and facilityMaintain a positive rapport with guests even at busy and hectic timesOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of 5 years of kitchen experience requiredLeadership/management experience in a kitchen environment requiredMust have a current Serve Safe CertificateBe familiar with international, domestic, and special diet cuisine preparationMust be able to lift and carry at least 40 lbs.DATES OF EMPLOYMENT:Flex Year Round - may have periods of reduced hours or layoffPAY RATE:$28.00 per hourDeer Valley is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
