Field MechanicThe Field Mechanic position is responsible for vehicle/equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs of vehicles and equipment.Main Job Tasks & ResponsibilitiesConducts vehicle/equipment inspectionsConducts preventative maintenance and repair on vehicle/equipmentIdentifies, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problemsEvaluates equipment failures, determines cause and completes timely and effective repairsUses equipment repair manuals and orders parts for repairsOther tasks assigned as neededSkills & RequirementsPossesses mechanical/electrical/hydraulic knowledge on various types of construction equipmentSelf-motivated, responsible, able to work in all weather conditionsExcellent problem solving and diagnostic abilityStrong communication skillsModerate computer skillsMust have working knowledge of various equipment diagnostic softwareWelding skills a plusMust be able to stay out of town as requiredSafe clean driving recordEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum 5 years of hands-on equipment repairDealer or manufacturer training desirableMust have Class B CDL at minimumPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
