Grantwriter – Ragamala Dance CompanyStatus: Hourly, ContractedRate: $60/hour; approx. 15-25 hours/weekWork Environment: Remote Deadline: Priority will be given to applications received by May 13, 2026General DescriptionMission Statement: Ragamala Dance Company is the vision of mother-daughter South Indian American artists Ranee Ramaswamy and Aparna Ramaswamy. Through multi-disciplinary dance works for the stage, engaging the community, and educating the next generation, Ragamala epitomizes intercultural and immigrant narratives that evoke a shared sense of humanity.Founded in 1992, Ragamala is a professional dance company that performs locally in Minneapolis/St. Paul MN, tours nationally and internationally, offers extensive community engagement programming, and operates a Bharatanatyam training center out of its studio in South Minneapolis. Ragamala’s Grantwriter is an hourly contracted position supporting the organization’s development operations. The ideal candidate thrives on taking initiative, balancing changing priorities, coordinating details and logistics, and producing accurate and high-quality results. The Grantwriter works closely with the Director of Operations, the Artistic Director/Executive Director, and the artistic team.Responsibilities● Comprehensive grant writing and submission (foundation, corporate, and government; new and existing funders)● Draft and submit grant reports to active funders as required● Work closely with Artistic Directors, Choreographic Associate, and Director of Operations to craft grant language● Work closely with the Director of Operations to create grant attachments and reporting language● Work with AI to support/supplement writing ● Biweekly meetings with artistic leadership● Research databases and online resources for new grant opportunities● Maintain the grants tracker in Salesforce and populate it with new and emerging prospects and deadlines● Manage lists of prospective, pending, and awarded grants Qualifications● At least 2-3 years' experience in grant writing/communications, with a demonstrated record of excellence● Experience using AI to support writing ● Experience with budgets, financial management, and reporting systems● Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software (e.g. Google Suite, MS Office)● Experience with Salesforce preferred ● Outstanding communication skills – must be an excellent writer● Able to communicate Ragamala’s mission, vision, and purpose to a wide range of current stakeholders and potential supporters● Able to work in a fast-paced virtual environment, supporting the Director of Operations in all grant-related activitiesSpecificationsPlease e-mail a cover letter, resumé, references, and at least 2 samples of past work toTamara Nadel, Director of Operations, tamara@ragamaladance.org Ragamala is committed to a diverse workplace and is an equal opportunity employer.
