Lead Design Engineer

DescriptionAs a Lead Design Engineer, you are responsible for the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of luxury residential appliance products. This position leads design engineering teams while working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and product management teams to deliver innovative, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead Design Engineering teams to develop mechanical components and assemblies for appliance productsCreate and maintain CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentationLead development of product requirements and execution of verification & validation test plansLead root cause investigations and implement corrective actionsLead cross-functional collaboration to improve manufacturability, quality and costWork with suppliers on component development and quality improvementsSupport regulatory, safety, and compliance requirementsManage engineering changes throughout the product lifecycleRequirementsEducationBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degreeRequired Experience6+ years of engineering experience/Appliance, consumer goods or manufacturing environment is a plusExperienced with project management techniques/tools and data analysisExperienced leading technical teams to commercializationExperienced in 3D CAD/PLM systems. CATIA/SolidWorks knowledge preferredPreferred Qualifications & Technical SkillsExperience with DFM/DFAExperience executing FMEA, DOE & root cause analysis techniquesExposure to CFD, FEA or other simulation tools
