Job RequirementsPOSITION SUMMARY:The Lead Pharmacy Tech provides superior quality, competitive value and outstanding service by:Providing technical advice and assistance to pharmacy tech supervisorMentoring & training pharmacy techniciansBeing able to expertly perform all tasks a regular pharmacy technician will performAssisting Pharmacists in medication preparation and distributionMaintaining drug inventory maintaining patient records.Primary AccountabilitiesQuality/No Harm: Technical advisor and assistant to Pharmacy Tech SupervisorPharmacy Technician Trainer & MentorAssist Pharmacy Tech Supervisor with daily and bi-weekly schedulingProvide input and attends management and staff meetingsKeeps pharmacy areas clean, neat, and well organizedKeeps pharmacy equipment cleanHelp maintain an accurate inventoryBe available to staff and/or members for questions, comments concernsCustomer ExperienceDelivers medication and supplies to patients and associates Answers requests at the window and coordinates stat deliveries if the need arises StewardshipParticipates in maintaining an accurate inventoryEnsures that prescriptions that are 10 days or older are put back into the inventoryHelps maintain accurate controlled narcotic inventoryCarry out all special projects and mandates assigned by management Work ExperienceQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:National pharmacy technician certification by the PCTB or ExCPT requiredCurrent State of Florida Pharmacy Technician registration or current State of Florida Pharmacy Intern registration required Technician staff scheduling Pharmacy Purchasing Controlled MedicationsPhysical DemandsRepetitive use of hands and fingers; good hand and wrist dexterity Typing and/or computer work for 8-10 hours/day.Good eyesight to read labels/prescriptions...Good hearing to understand phone instructions/ordersAbility to work in noisy distracting atmosphere, to handle frequent interruptions, to Adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Walk, bend, stoop, twist, sit, stand for long periods of time, 8-10 hours a day.
