Telecommunications Construction Project Manager

An established telecommunications construction company with over 30 years in business is expanding and seeking experienced Telecommunications Construction Project Managersto support BAU (Business-As-Usual) programs for major Fortune 50 telecommunications providers throughout Illinois.
This is not an entry-level PM role. We are looking for professionals with direct experience managing underground and aerial telecom construction projects, including fiber deployment, splicing, Metro-E, and full turnkey services.
Due to continued growth, we are currently hiring multiple Project Managers.
Role Overview
The Project Manager will oversee BAU telecom construction work across multiple markets, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to client standards. This includes managing both underground and aerial fiber construction, coordinating crews, and maintaining strong communication with clients and internal teams.
This role focuses on project execution and field leadership, supported by a strong internal operations team.
Responsibilities
Manage BAU telecommunications construction projects
Oversee underground and aerial fiber construction
Coordinate fiber splicing, activation, and Metro-E deployments
Manage full turnkey telecom construction projects
Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and internal resources
Track project timelines, deliverables, and budgets
Maintain communication with clients and internal leadership
Monitor production metrics and performance goals
Identify and resolve project issues proactively
Ensure safety and quality standards are maintained

Required Experience
Direct experience managing telecommunications construction projects
Experience with underground and aerial fiber construction
Experience coordinating fiber splicing and activation
Experience managing Metro-E or business services deployments
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Ability to work in fast-paced BAU environment
Preferred Experience
Experience working with major telecom providers
Experience managing full turnkey telecom construction
Experience managing subcontractors and internal crews
Knowledge of telecom construction standards and practices
