Apply via Dice today!Role: Corporate Employment CounselLocation: New York, NY or Edison, NJ Office - the role requires candidate to be onsite at NY office or NJ office 5 days a weekJob Description:Seeking a senior employment law attorney with experience litigating and advising on U.S. employment law matters. The successful candidate will report to the Associate General Counsel – Head of Legal, USA, and will provide legal support to the Human Resources department.Responsibilities:Provide proactive, day-to-day employment law advice, assistance, and counselingPartner with HR to manage and respond to employee relations issues, investigations, and grievancesDraft, customize, and update separation and release agreements for terminating employeesReview disciplinary actions and terminations in collaboration with HRAssist in managing and responding to subpoenas and document requestsRecommend, implement, and continuously improve employment law–related training programsRespond to administrative complaints and Department of Labor investigationsMaintain employment law files and databasesRespond to EEOC complaints and agency inquiriesAssist with employment-related litigation mattersProvide guidance to other employment counsel and help develop employment practice strategyManage and supervise outside counsel, as requiredQualifications:Minimum of eight (8) years of experience focused on employment law and litigation; prior in-house experience preferredJuris Doctor from a top-tier law school and admission in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. stateStrong analytical skills, judgment, and problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to work proactively and independently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to collaborate effectively within the legal team and cross-functionally with other groupsWillingness to take on matters outside of core expertise, as neededAbility to work closely with HR and legal team members; this is an on-site role and not a work-from-home position
