Field Operations Trainer
JOB PURPOSE
The Field Operations Trainer is responsible for the coordination and execution of training and development of the field employees, implementing industry-leading training programs, and developments systems, implementing measurement tools, and providing feedback, to ensure that all Professional Grounds, INC field employees are properly trained to perform their task. The occupant of this position must work together with the Training and Development Manager, Field Managers, and Human Resources Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Landscape Maintenance
Evaluate the current training programs that are in place and the materials.
Identify areas in which training can make an impact on employee performance.
Develop the budget required for the execution of training programs.
Identify training needs for new employees and ensure all new hires receive initial training in their first week and first month on the job.
Assists in the development policies and procedures for training and development programs.
Complying with the weekly training schedule.
Conducting training sessions to teach employees how to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.
Preparing and administering tests to measure the knowledge gained from training.
Ensure work performed meets safety, quality, and service standards.
Actively participates in safety meetings.
Providing feedback to trained employees about the quality and effectiveness of their performance.
Working Conditions
This position is an indoor/outdoor job that will require exposure to all weather conditions, dust, dirt, chemicals/solvents and odors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Experience Requirements
At least two (2) years performing functions as a crew leader and one (1) year as a training supervisor (desirable).
Preferred Education Requirements
Bachelor's or High School Degree in Education, Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field
Certifications in instructional design, adult education, or training.
Bilingual English and Spanish skills are mandatory.
Required Skills
Computer skills – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
Demonstrated knowledge of landscaping techniques, equipment, and best practices.
Proven ability to deliver effective training programs for field operations staff.
Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to incorporate safety protocols into training materials and practices.
Physical Requirements
A part of this job requires the employee to be able to stand, walk, or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects; walk for long distances and on sloped ground and uneven surfaces; move, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; normal manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
