The Senior Project Manager is responsible for field and office coordination of all projects, current and upcoming, by preparing and managing all required documentation and resources to ensure administrative issues stay ahead of project progress in accordance with contract documents. The Senior Project Manager will work closely with all Project Managers, Project Engineers, and the management team to address project discrepancies, communicate updates, and ensure that all crew members and staff are following the best safety practices at all times.
Managing site research and preparing feasibility reports for new projects
Conduct field visits to understand existing site conditions, construction status checks, and train team members for these roles
Prepare, manage, and review engineering reports and construction specifications
Manage project folder organization
Monitor teams and own efficiency and workload in coordination with the Vice President
Assist, manage, and train team members using AutoCAD to address review comments and prepare plan updates
Attend City meetings pertaining to assigned projects (including, but not limited to Planning & Zoning Commissions, City Council, pre-development, and pre-construction meetings)
Visit job sites to stay abreast of all project activities and ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the contract
Serve as a liaison for managers, supervisors, and subcontractors
Create and maintain project management checklists as needed
Investigate potential problems and implement corrective measures
Establish a close working relationship with team members and Project Manager
Supervise junior Project Managers and Project Engineers
Develop, manage, and ensure quality control plans are established and effectively implemented
Communicates with the Survey Department on proposals, scope, work needed, and budgets
10+ years’ experience
Have had a Professional Engineer License for 5+ years
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Proficient in producing engineering drawings and calculations
Must provide guidance on the production of engineering drawings, calculations, submittals, and reports
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills with all level of employees oral and written within the organization as well as with clients and public agency officials
Highly effective interpersonal skills with all levels of employees within the organization
Self-starter & has the ability to work interdependently within a team environment
Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs
Civil 3D, Hydrographs, Hydroflow Storm Sewers, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS
A comprehensive understanding of platting and other entitlement processes
Proficient in identifying project critical paths and coordinating accordingly
Ability to diagnose calculation problems and provide guidance to subordinates
Experience with Project Management / Accounting Software (AJERA) preferred
