The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of hands-on software development experience, with strong expertise in C#, modern .NET, and Microsoft SQL Server.This role will primarily focus on backend application development, database development, and the modernization of business-critical applications. The developer will work closely with technical and business teams throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver scalable, maintainable, and high-performing solutions.Experience with legacy application modernization, React, Kubernetes, containerized environments, and data integration is highly desirable.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using C# and modern .NET.Design and develop scalable backend application components, services, and business logic.Develop, optimize, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, complex queries, stored procedures, and database objects.Perform SQL query optimization, database performance tuning, and troubleshooting.Support the modernization and migration of legacy applications to modern .NET-based architectures.Analyze existing application functionality and business logic to support modernization initiatives.Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.Troubleshoot complex application and database issues and implement effective long-term solutions.Collaborate with business analysts, developers, database teams, and other technical stakeholders to develop scalable and maintainable solutions.Support data integration between enterprise applications and systems.Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and reusable code while following established development standards and best practices.Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvements in application architecture and development practices.Support applications deployed within containerized environments, including Kubernetes, where applicable.Contribute to frontend development using React as needed.Required Qualifications7+ years of hands-on software development experience in enterprise application environments.Strong hands-on development experience with C# and modern .NET (.NET Core / .NET 8/10).Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.Strong SQL development skills, including:Complex query developmentStored procedure developmentQuery optimizationDatabase designPerformance tuningTroubleshooting database performance issuesStrong experience designing and developing backend applications, services, and business logic.Experience supporting and maintaining large-scale, business-critical enterprise applications.Experience troubleshooting application and database issues in development and production environments.Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and coding best practices.Experience working throughout the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting payroll, human capital management (HCM), financial services, or other complex enterprise business applications.Experience with legacy application modernization or system migration initiatives, including migration from mainframe or COBOL-based applications to modern .NET architectures.Experience with React or other modern JavaScript frontend frameworks.Experience working with Kubernetes and containerized application environments.Experience with data integration and enterprise system interfaces.Experience developing or consuming REST APIs and web services.Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.Key Technical SkillsCore: C#, .NET / .NET Core, Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, Stored Procedures, SQL Query Optimization, Database Design, Performance Tuning, Backend DevelopmentPreferred: React, Kubernetes, Containers, REST APIs, Data Integration, Legacy Modernization, COBOL Migration, Agile/ScrumIdeal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a senior hands-on .NET developer with particularly strong SQL Server expertise who can develop and support complex enterprise applications while contributing to modernization initiatives.
