This prospective individual will work with the fabrication shop and project field teams to ensure quality expectations are being achieved and ASME code requirements are being met. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely with team members, peers, and various levels of management, as well as the ability to diagnose fabrication issues and take appropriate action, is critical to success.Your Day-to-Day At Murphy CompanyPerform job walks pre, during, and post completion, including:Weld inspection in field and shopWeld trackingWelder qualifications and associated documentationNDT coordination and interfacing with third-party inspectorsInterfacing with client QAQC representatives and inspectorsGenerate and distribute weekly QAQC reportsAssembly of final turnover packagesAssist in preparing, reviewing, and assembling documentation for ASME Code repairs and alterations. This will include selecting welding procedures, verifying welder qualifications, preparing material requisitions, receiving materials and verifying material documentation, verifying fabrication criteria, performing dimension checks, witnessing testing, and verifying that the TOP is complete and accurate.Train new project members in site-specific SOPsBring Your A-Game! Our ideal candidate should possess the following traits:Associate's degree in a technical field or completion of a Journeyman ProgramCurrent Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certificate5 years of experience inspecting welds associated with ASME BPE, B31.1, B31.3, or other recognized piping codesExperience in developing and maintaining weld tracking programsExperience reading and interpreting ASME Section IX welding proceduresExperience with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 pressure vessels (preferred)Working knowledge of NDT techniquesWorking knowledge of Microsoft OfficeAbility to travel to multiple job sites dailyWhat We Will Bring To The TableA collaborative, family-friendly work environment Competitive pay and an excellent benefits package, including health and life insurance, a robust wellness program, 401(k), and profit sharing.
