Pharmacist
Pharmacist Participates in all outpatient and clinical pharmacy services. The pharmacist reviews the drug therapy for appropriateness relative to the patient's condition, lab tests when indicated, concurrent drug therapy, known adverse reactions, contraindications, dose, dosage schedule, and length of therapy prior to dispensing. Processes, prepares, and dispenses medication to patients. Reviews patient's medication profile for safety, logic, and effectiveness of drug therapy. Counsels patients' medication for special clinic's usage if requested. Inspects all storage places for drugs to ensure proper storage conditions; checks expiration dates and condition to ensure drugs are pure, safe, and effective. Orders and maintains stock of drugs dispensed by pharmacy on a routine basis, including drug file maintenance in the E.H.R. Maintains necessary records for controlled substances and other prescription products as required by law. Provides consultation to providers such as drug information, drug registry searches, medication reconciliation, etc. Responds to emergency codes during clinic emergencies and provides medication consultation. Communicates respectively and effectively with patients, community, and other clinic employees. Maintains workflow during daily operation to ensure safe and efficient dispensing of medications and patient counseling. Performs minimal cleaning throughout workday such as wiping of counters, counting trays, dusting shelves, etc. Other duties as assigned. Current license as pharmacist in the state of Montana or ability to obtain before starting position. Desired qualifications: Clinical pharmacist endorsement.
