Vilya&#39;s ultimate goal is to solve some of the most challenging unmet medical needs that exist today.Our Vision: Harness a revolution in technology and biology to better human healthOur Mission: Build an independent, leading biotech company founded on intelligent drug design to cure the incurableWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) team in South San Francisco for 12 weeks during the summer of 2026. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry, assisting with the analysis and evaluation of the pharmacokinetic properties of drug candidates. Reporting to our Associate Director, DMPK, you will work closely with experienced scientists to support the development of automated workflows. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain insight into drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) processes in drug discovery, while becoming familiar with the use of automated equipment and laboratory workflows.RESPONSIBILITIESUtilize advanced liquid handling systems to generate an automated DMPK workflowGenerate a standard operating procedure (SOP) for an automated workflowUtilize common lab techniques such as preparing solutions, conducting basic assays, and handling laboratory samples to support DMPK research effortsContribute to the organization and operation of the DMPK lab including upkeep of lab instrumentation, supplies, day-to-day operations and adherence to EH&S rules and regulationsRecord experiments in an electronic lab notebook in a timely mannerRegularly report and discuss research findings with peers or supervisorsCommunicate clearly and respectfully with all members of the organizationQUALIFICATIONS3rd-4th year undergraduate students, or recent graduates in Chemistry, Biology or other relevant fieldBasic programming understandingAbility to use laboratory equipment (e.g., pipettes, microscopes, centrifuges)Knowledge of aseptic techniques, such as proper handling of cultures and sterilization procedures to prevent contaminationUnderstanding of lab safety practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency protocolsFamiliarity with handling hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals, biological agents) and understanding safety data sheets (SDS)Enthusiasm for a career in biotech, with an interest in innovation, research, and contributing to advancing healthcare or technology solutionsAbility to work onsite in our South San Francisco officeVILYA INTERN COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Wage: $25/hour - $45/hour, based on a combination of education and experienceOpportunity to work in a disruptive startup with a talented, experienced, and dedicated teamMonthly commuter stipend#LI-Onsite
