Staff Accountant
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities. This role will be hands-on across accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer billing, reconciliations, license tracking, and customer support, working closely with both internal teams and external partners. Construction industry experience is a plus, but not required.
Technical Skills & Responsibilities
Process and input accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely payments
Process and input accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing, cash application, and account monitoring
Prepare and manage customer billing, including progress billing, AIA billing, and retainage, ensuring invoices are accurate, timely, and compliant with contract terms, approved schedules of values, and supporting documentation
Assist with and support the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and account analysis
Prepare and maintain bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis
Track and maintain business licenses, permits, and compliance requirements, ensuring renewals and documentation are current
Maintain accurate and well-organized accounting records in accordance with company policies
Support internal customers with accounting-related questions and reporting needs
Communicate professionally with external customers and vendors to resolve billing, payment, or account inquiries
Assist with audits, financial reporting, and ad-hoc accounting projects as needed
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and documentation

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
2–3 years of accounting experience in a staff or junior accountant role
Construction or job-cost accounting experience preferred but not required
Experience with Quickbooks accounting software and Microsoft Excel or equivalent
Pay: $60,630.12 - $73,016.92 per year
