Rumble’s mission is to restore the Internet to its roots by making it free and open once again.VICE PRESIDENT OF ENGINEERINGMaintain hands on expertise with company’s products and technologies that power the platform to be able to diagnose complex issues involving multiple systems, proposing fast, efficient and organic solutions as needed. Review software engineering staff’s work to ensure high quality standards are met, including inspecting the proposed code changes in places that are mission-critical and that have an immediate and negative impact on organization’s users across the web, mobile, and TV platforms, as well as advertising effect on organization’s systems, such as storage, content delivery networks, private and public networks. Act as a leader in researching, proposing and selecting new technologies and furthering their implementation. Stay abreast of current industry trends and developments, actively research and continually motivate peer engineers to keep up with industry innovations by sharing new knowledge and discoveries with the team. Propose innovative approaches and algorithms that are not yet widely available or adopted, deemed novel and experimental, or being entirely original. Coordinate, take necessary precautions, and prepare to perform emergency routines when critical systems are undergoing maintenance procedures. Act as information security expert and lead for keeping company secrets, such as passwords, digital keys, and other forms of security access codes, sharing them with staff on as-needed basis and ensuring continuous rotation of such secrets. Design new as well as support current efforts in designing and improving fraud protection mechanisms, abuse and DMCA response routines, and other security and protection procedures and technologies. Take lead role in the design and integration of sophisticated technologies, such as Machine Learning algorithms, to maintain website stability and availability during bot attacks and safeguard against diverse forms of monetary fraud. Design and support scalable email sending systems for delivering large numbers of subscription notification emails, electronic digests and newsletters. Design and continuously improve geographically distributed topology of internal company services, such as databases, search, video encoding, livestreaming, etc. to ensure robustness, redundancy and high availability of such services by working with Procurement department to obtain required hardware and software. Propose, orchestrate, and actively participate in deployment of database schema changes, ensuring the safety of operations and consistent availability of regular backups. Continuously monitor integrity and accessibility of backup copies, and conduct regular backup restoration drills to maintain staff readiness, ensuring minimal response and recovery times in the event of system failures. Gather necessary metrics and provide relevant details as needed to support the functions of other departments, including legal, billing, accounting, business development, marketing, user support, moderation, and others.
