Barista/Cake Slicer/Customer Service

Overview: We are an extremely busy cake shop seeking skilled customer service people to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, good cake, and good coffee. The ideal candidate will be able to follow processes and procedures to produce perfect espresso each time while remaining calm under pressure. If you have Barista or Bartending experience we'd love to hear from you! Must be flexible, efficient, able to roll with the punches, and a desire to always be better at your craft. Pay is hourly with tip pool based on hours. We are busy and like to have fun, but always take our work seriously. Teamwork is mandatory. Barista/Slicer/Cashier: The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate attention to detail and be able to follow directions. Excellent customer service skills are required. Responsible for making quality beverages such as coffee, tea and specialty drinks. Ability to remember and describe menu items while providing suggestions to guests. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs. Ensuring pastry and cake case are always stocked, clean and accurate. Ensuring cleanliness of espresso bar and dining room. Regular communication with the back of house is required. Accurately and efficiently slicing cake and packaging other baked goods. Following recipes and accurately measuring ingredients for drinks. Maintaining the cleanliness of the shop, including restroom. The Barista/Slicer/Cashier must be able to perform tasks quickly and efficiently while also making sure to form good customer relationships. We are extremely busy and need people who can stay organized and work well under pressure. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift 50lbs, and remain calm when busy. Tips average add an extra $10-$15 per hour. We ensure everyone gets their mandated breaks and lunches :-) Position Requirements: Valid food handler card. Must create a warm and inviting experience for guests. Clean and tidy appearance. Understanding of food safety practices. Excellent time management skills. Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure. Maintain a clean and safe work station, sanitizing bucket and hot well. Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment. Ability to occasionally exert or lift up to 50lbs. Quality check all product, FIFO, label and properly store all products. Positive attitude. Reliable transportation. Weekend and closing availability is a must. Previous work for a small business is strongly preferred.
