Location: Taylor, TexasShift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMPay Range: $27–$29 per hourEmployment Type: Full-TimeJob Summary / OverviewMy Client is seeking a detail-oriented Key Control Program Manager (Locksmith) to oversee the secure issuance, tracking, maintenance, and recovery of physical keys across multiple facilities in the Austin area. This role is responsible for managing keyed access systems, maintaining accurate records and inventories, developing and updating policies and SOPs, and ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to restricted areas. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical locksmith skills, excellent documentation practices, and a strong security mindset.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, adjust, repair, and maintain locks and door hardwareWork directly with vendors to install locks and establish key management protocols on new projectsManage lock and key control programs at legacy sites, including installation, removal, rekeying, and documentationCut and issue physical keys while maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, including tracking unassigned keysDevelop, update, and maintain Key Control Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect design changes and operational needsMaintain detailed audit records of user access and key assignmentsRespond professionally and promptly to written and verbal service requestsMaintain a strong security focus by applying risk management principles and compliance standards to protect company property and assetsEducation, Training & Experience RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of two (2) years of experience working as a locksmithOR a combination of approved locksmith training (48-hour course / 600-hour fundamentals) and one (1) year of hands-on experienceEquivalent experience and training will be consideredKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesThorough understanding of keyed lock systems and key cutting proceduresExperience with lock installation, rekeying, and hardware maintenanceFamiliarity with both physical and electronic access control systemsStrong organizational and documentation skillsAbility to work independently across multiple sitesCustomer-service oriented with clear verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to security and compliance standards
