Construction Project Engineer
Job Summary:
Headwaters Construction Company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our Operations team. This position works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams to support the successful execution of commercial construction projects. The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating project documentation, managing submittals and RFIs, supporting project scheduling, and ensuring accurate communication between the office and the field. What you need:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field preferred
1+ years of commercial construction experience, including internships or entry-level project coordination experience
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software (Procore experience preferred)
Basic understanding of construction procedures, scheduling, and project documentation
Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced commercial construction environment
Ability to travel to project sites as needed and safely access active construction environments while wearing required PPE
Responsibilities:
Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination, documentation, and administrative support
Manage and track submittals, shop drawings, product data, and other project documentation
Maintain and distribute current project plans, specifications, and related documents to subcontractors and suppliers
Coordinate communication between project teams, subcontractors, architects, owners, and suppliers
Support project scheduling, procurement tracking, and material coordination
Attend project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and track action items
Provide project information and coordination support to Superintendents and field teams
Maintain project logs and assist with project closeout documentation, including warranties, operation and maintenance manuals, and final turnover packages
Help identify project issues and support timely resolution while promoting safe jobsite operations
Performs other duties as assigned
