Environmental Engineer

Responsibilities: Assist with environmental compliance support, mainly air (NSPS, LDAR, NSR, Title V, etc.)Review physical and operational changes using systematic methods or Best Practices to ensure compliance with air, waste and water regulations, including air permit requirementsEvaluate, manage, and interpret data, make recommendations, and prepare written and verbal reports as neededComplete air permitting applications and knowledgeable of state(NM) Permitting rulesDevelop Compliance Plans to ensure compliance with new or revised regulations and permitsDevelop improved systems to drive both compliance and efficienciesSupport staff on regulatory issues to help drive reasonable rulemaking and regulatory interpretationsAct as a liaison between state and federal agencies by participating in agency inspections and providing information requestedPerforms periodic field walks, informal audits, and field verifications to validate current performance of assigned unitsResponsible for rolling out basic environmental training modules for air regulatory complianceParticipate in internal and external regulatory assessmentsQualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or equivalent work experience3–5 years of experience and an understanding of both federal and New Mexico air regulations.Experience with SAP, work order processes for audio, visual, and olfactory (AVO) monitoring, and leak detection and repair (LDAR) inspections preferred.Proven ability to take initiative, manage / prioritize deadlines and achieve resultsKnowledge of Federal and State environmental regulationsStrong analytical and communication skillsMust be able to work both independently, and as part of a team member, with people of differing backgrounds and experience LevelsIntermediate Level desktop computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPointDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting, and personal drive and initiative to achieve results
