This position supports the utilities by managing the Rates and Pricing function, including staff supervision and technical leadership. The role is vital in supporting the utility's strategic objectives to maintain financial strength, deliver long-term low rates, and enhance customer service. Key responsibilities include cross-functional collaboration on customer rate design, financial modeling, and risk analysis, and advising the Executive Team on rate-related decisions.Essential FunctionsDevelop economic models and analysis for rate design, policies, load forecasting, and related fees. Build complex financial models, develop customer-focused products and pricing, and perform cost of service and allocation analysis.Design and develop rates, pricing, and contract strategies in a dynamic retail and wholesale environment.Execute and manage analytical efforts, providing high-quality utility rate and financial consulting. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, balancing customer focus with organizational goals.Promote safety as a core value and lead safety initiatives within the team.Manage the Rates & Pricing team, including training, development, and performance management.Plan work efficiently, coordinate with other departments, and develop departmental goals aligned with organizational objectives.Support load forecasting efforts, including variance analysis and modeling.Lead the ratemaking process, including rate proposals and documentation, and oversee cost-of-service studies.Maintain and analyze relevant rates and benchmarking data, participate in industry surveys.Design strategies for rates, policies, and fees, including public outreach and regulatory coordination.Collaborate on product offerings and rate schedules with various departments to evaluate risks and opportunities.Support financial forecasts and strategic planning through economic analysis.Communicate ideas and present in public forums to stakeholders, customers, and officials.Assign priorities, provide training, and conduct performance reviews for team members.Handle administrative functions such as budgeting, hiring, and safety compliance.Foster a safety culture by adhering to safety policies, reporting hazards, and promoting safety initiatives.Uphold organizational values, mission, and compliance standards.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Economics, Math, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Science, or equivalent; or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.At least 7 years of experience in retail customer engagement, cost-of-service studies, rate design, and load forecasting.Preferred QualificationsMaster's or PhD in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.Experience in electric power industry, wholesale rate making, transmission, and ancillary services.Prior leadership experience in a similar role.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesUnderstanding of electric utility operations and rate development principles.Proficiency in financial modeling, economic analysis, and regulatory processes.Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.Strong organizational, leadership, and decision-making capabilities.Additional DetailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob functions: Analyst, Business Strategy, PlanningIndustries: Government, UtilitiesJ-18808-Ljbffr
