Chronic Registered Nurse (RN) – HemodialysisAlternate/Related Job Titles: Dialysis RN · Chronic Hemodialysis Nurse · Nephrology Registered NurseLocation: Timonium, MDOnsite Flexibility: OnsiteContract DetailsPosition Type: ContractContract Duration: 14 weeksStart: As Soon As PossiblePay Rate: Pending confirmationShift: Not specified (clinical onsite schedule applies)Job SummaryThe Chronic Hemodialysis Registered Nurse is responsible for providing and coordinating clinically competent nursing care—including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation—to an assigned group of End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) patients. This role participates in patient education, interdisciplinary collaboration, leadership activities, and quality improvement efforts to support optimal treatment outcomes and facility operations.All responsibilities must be performed in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policies, state and federal regulations, and the standards of nursing practice.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform systematic collection and analysis of patient data before, during, and after dialysis treatment.Adjust treatment plans as indicated and escalate changes to the Team Leader, Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Physician.Assess patient and family learning needs; provide education and updates as appropriate.Deliver safe and effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with patient care staff.Administer prescribed medications and document clinical justification and effectiveness.Initiate or assist with emergency response procedures.Serve as a resource for the healthcare team; participate in training and orientation of new staff.Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures; reschedule missed labs when needed.Document and update nursing assessments and care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.Support patient awareness regarding transplant and treatment modality options.Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.Physical Demands & Working ConditionsFrequent heavy lifting and patient mobility assistance using equipment or coworker help.Prolonged standing; frequent bending, kneeling, or reaching.Occasional movement of equipment up to 200 lbs with assistance.Ability to lift chemical and water solutions up to 30 lbs to heights up to 5 feet.Exposure to infectious diseases/materials.Work involves direct patient care, computer tasks, and interaction with staff and physicians.May require travel to training or nearby facilities.Must pass the Ishihara Color Blindness Test or receive reasonable accommodation if needed.Supervision RequirementsEligible to oversee Patient Care Technicians/LPNs/LVNs/RNs after:Completion of all required FKC training.Minimum 9 months RN experience.Minimum 3 months chronic or acute hemodialysis RN experience.Education & LicensureGraduate of an accredited School of Nursing.Current state RN licensure.Current CPR/BLS certification.Must meet all Maryland practice requirements.Experience & Required Skills1 year of Nephrology Nursing experience within the last two years (required).Chronic hemodialysis experience required.Ability to work with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills.About GTTGTT is a minority-owned staffing firm and a subsidiary of Chenega Corporation, a Native American-owned company in Alaska.
