Middle and Upper School Spanish Teacher
Sayre School is seeking a highly motivated and qualified teacher of Spanish to begin in the 26-27 school year. This is a wonderful independent school and a great place to work.Job Responsibilities And Opportunities IncludeTeaching Middle and Upper School Spanish offerings that may include levels 6th, 7th, and 8th grade through Spanish II. Higher levels may be added. Curriculum development and curricular expertiseSome years, teaching a Pre-Spanish 1 class for students with diagnosed learning differencesWorking with a group of advisees and supporting the social-emotional needs of studentsUnderstanding the impact of different learning profiles on language teaching, expertise in differentiating within the classroom, and knowledge in supporting students with diagnoses of Specific Learning Disability in Reading (or Dyslexia), Giftedness, ADHD, or other needs established in an ILPDeveloping and expanding the Spanish program, including:Promoting knowledge of the Spanish language and the diversity of cultures in the Spanish-speaking worldRecruiting students to the Spanish program at all levelsWorking collaboratively with the team of World Language teachers and other colleaguesWriting narrative comments about students at the conclusion of each termServing on committees and occasional supervision or other duties around the schoolSayre’s mission focuses on fostering academic excellence, embracing challenge, and cultivating integrity.
